Safe Autonomous Systems Lab
The Safe Autonomous Systems Lab focuses on the development of autonomous robotic systems that can operate robustly and effectively in uncertain and dynamic environments. Achieving this requires the robots to plan, account for both individual and team capabilities and limitations, reason about uncertainty, respond to unexpected challenges, and interact effectively and naturally with their surroundings.
Our research centers on developing advanced planning and control systems for single and multi-robot systems, ensuring seamless integration with operational constraints related to safety, task performance, sensing, communication, and energy resources.
By incorporating rigorous real-time decision-making and control capabilities, we aim to build autonomous systems with persistent autonomy, capable of performing essential and complex tasks safely and reliably in unstructured, real-world environments, even under unpredictable conditions.
